Forever Gone

Late this night I lay awake thinking of only you.
My body shakes, the tears fall free, something I already knew.
I tremble inside, lost in this life, of sadness ever doubting.
Without you here my mind is lost, my screams subside to shouting.
The loss is mine, my heart is gone, forever it is wilted.
My thoughts run rampant as I think of you and how my love was jilted.
I knew this day would come to us, but the sorrow was not my plan.
So I lay here and cry, hoping to die, wanting to end it by my hand.
Forever you're gone, the love that I lost, never to stand beside me.

The silver glints in the light.
