Chapter 1

Darkness... Darkness is the thing that swallows entire lives whole. That which all fear, and yet none can avoid. It's all consuming, everlasting, non evading; and yet, it welcomes all. It takes those around into its welcoming grasp and holds them with a vice like grip that none can break. The darkness is everywhere, and the only thing that can sustain it, the only thing that can hold it back, is the light. ...There is no light in this place. This place I've come to. The light is ...

My New Job - A New Blog By Mike

Alright, so I started a new job at the start of January, and after a christmas that involved moving a grand total of fourteen feet, it was a bit of a shock to my system. The first shock was when I woke up... 6.30? What the hell is that all about? Who gets up at half six? That's an insanely stupid time to have to get up! After the initial shock, I was bemused to find that there was no bread... what was I to eat? I was informed of a strange concoction of savoury items, often called a 'sandwich'. ...

The Birth of a Legend

Chapter 1 - Birth of a self-proclaimed modern legend

This is the autobiography of a man called Horatio. Horatio John Smith to be precise.

I am what you would call an enigma, a phenomenon if you will. I've climbed the heights, and swum the depths...

So to speak.

I'll start off at the beginning. Because that's usually where stories start.

Not that I've made any of this up of course, I haven't, really! It's all true!

(Well, except for a few 'embellishments' so to speak!).

Random Ramblings of a Tired Mind...

Ok, I'm not going to post a link, I'm going to post on here the slightly amusing blog story I've started on Myspace. It has a Part 1 and a Part 2 so far, and both are not linked at all.. continuity isn't one of my strong points.

The funny and random events that me and my friend Linzi encounter.

What a crap title, but it'll do for now. It does explain what's happening though, and although some of the parts of this are fictional, some of it isn't, which is why I'm typing this.

Fun and Games at the Passport Office!

I went to the post office, and straight away I knew I didn't like it here. For start, there were stairs leading up to it! I mean come on! What if all I needed was a stamp? What if I was 90? What if I had a fear of stairs?

Ten minutes I blocked the stairway for, while I was churning this around in my head. There amassed a queue of nearly twelve bemused 90 year olds with un-stamped envelopes waiting to go medieval on my ass. I promptly moved.

Once I got up there, it was a strange new ...

Before you ask, I don't think those words are real... check them in a dictionary if you really want to know.

Anyway.

The latest of my clearly very intelligent ideas was to join a gym. Boy was that a strange choice. These places are like parallel universes! They have strange mechanical beasts ready to bend and stretch human people every which way but Saturday!

So. I had made the decision, and the next step was to go to the place and actually physically sign up for it. Off I hopped, ...

So, I've come to a point in my life where I can see the funny side of most things that appear before me. I find it only fair that I share these things with you.

I'll take you through a day of my working life, with fairly obvious embellishments. Because that's what I do.

The Snooze button. My friend, my ally... my worst enemy. I'm not the best at waking up in the morning, and this button seems to know this. It actively promotes getting up late, so much so that it activates sometimes, ...

“Come on Lillith,” the pretty young woman said, her arms crossed, looking about her anxiously. “This place doesn’t feel right.” The young woman who had been the subject of so much interest to the Faerun, both of the Light and of the Dark, bore the name of Gideon. Lillith looked very similar to Gideon, except her eyes were the colour of Gideon’s hair, and Lillith’s hair was the same hue as a raven’s wing. Lillith and Gideon differed greatly. Gideon was serious, mature and had an air of sensuality ...

The Fithiarch and Gideon

The sun was casting long fingers of shadows as it struck the trees on it’s descent past the horizon. The final dying rays created an eerie pink and red glow in along the earth, as waves of darkness stretched to the stars. Thousands of feet above the horizon, the glowing white stars were beginning to peek through the blackness, ...
